Opportunity Knocks – September 2014

Theme
This month’s virtue: Responsibility

Think about the word RESPONSIBILITY. God has created everyone with potential: talents, time, resources, opportunities. And we can either respond to God with our abilities in a way that honors Him, or we can waste what He has given. It really breaks down into how you respond with your abilities. Our goal this month is for children to not only understand how to respond to the ability that God’s given them, but also how to respond to God’s ability to work through them to change the world around them.

September’s Memory Verse: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” Luke 16:10a, NIV

Week One: Adam and Eve (Genesis 1:26-31; 2:15, 19-20)
Bottom Line: Show you can be trusted by taking care of what God has made.

Week Two: Elijah and Elisha (1 Kings 19:16-21; 2 Kings 2:1-15)
Bottom Line: Show you can be trusted to lead by learning how to follow.

Week Three: Parable of the Two Sons (Matthew 21:28-32)
Bottom Line: Show you can be trusted by what you do.

Week Four: Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-29a)
Bottom Line: Show you can be trusted with more by taking care of what you have.

Keep the conversation going at home.
As we seek to teach your children about God’s love for them, we know that no one has more influence in their lives than you. Parent Cue allows us to partner with you by providing monthly resources for you and your child to connect.
